  • The Lafayette 6 tube AC-DC Superhet has a cabinet of "... new moulded and colored plastics material to blend with any setting". The model C-3 is in Ivory, C-4 in Red and C-5 in Black. They have a "clock-type" dial which uses a 5:1 ratio planetary drive. The band covered is from 540 - 1735 kc (173 - 555 m). We don't count the (unknown) ballast tube. Lafayette is writing about the models: "... and assure the listener of studio-like reproduction."

    List price for model C-3 and C-4 is $ 31.90 and Lafayette price is $ 15.95 for one of them or $ 14.95 for the black C-5. Addl. $ 1.00 for 220-volt AC operation. At that time, the term "plastics" is also used for Bakelite - and therefore we need first the information from a set to be determined.
