- Notes
-
Dick Tracy was the police detective hero of a comic strip created by Chester Gould. The strip made its debut on October 4, 1931, in the Detroit Mirror. Gould wrote and drew the strip until 1977. On January 13, 1946 the 2-Way Wrist Radio, worn as a wristwatch by Tracy and members of the police force, became one of the strip's most immediately recognizable icons. This 1951 version is possibly one of the earliest working replicas.
