  • Anotaciones
  • Radio Unit, BTS

The BTS is a superheterodyne circuit, designed to take the place of BT2, when conditions make that type of tuner impracticable.

Consists of an aerial band-pass coupling to the control grid of an MX40 as the first detector and frequency charger of conventional circuit design.

In the anode of which, an IF transformer of the 8 kHz type couples into a VMP4 acting as the intermediate amplifier.

A tapped primary IF transformer couples this valve into the detector and AVC diodes, the remainder of the circuit is as BT2, except that an IF filter circuit is employed in the detector diode

Power supply required:  20 mA, 250 volts; 4 volts at 3.6 amps for heaters, etc.

Controls: Tuning, Tone, Volume, Long, Medium, and Gram switch.

Connections: Speech and Earth - two-pin socket, HT and Heaters - 5-pin plug and socket.
