The Photofact Annual Index indicates for this model Magnavox "AM-2 all transistor" set 342, folder 9. and the Transistor Book shows a folder with chassis CR729AA and CR729BA. SAMS says that chassis CR729BA should not have the following components: R3, R6, C10, C17. There is a note: "Chassis number was not stamped on initial production chassis. These chassis are CR729AA."
The AM-2 was coming in three colors: "Cabinet back" in Red, Ivory or Black. It is made for a power supply of a 4 volts mercury battery "Eveready E233".The chassis CR729CA was also produced and a picture is available.

It was produced also with at least two additional Magnavox brands: Spartan and Sentinel. Externally it was imitated by Ful-Tone TR-601 and several other brands therein reported.
