The second hi-fi stereo compact disc player released by Marantz in 1983, housed in a metal case with front loading tray. With push button switches for Open/Close, Next Program/Play, Pause, Rev., F.F., Stop/All Cancel, Select, Preset, Repeat and Cancel, 15 LED track indicators, LED indicators for Repeat, Overflow, Laser, Standby and Pause. On the back, RCA phono sockets for Line Output and for Remote Control connection to the RC430 Remote Control Receiver with the RMC-12 infrared remote control using the Marantz Digital BUS system.
With Philips CDM-0 or CDM-1 CD player mechanism and first generation Philips chipset.
