  • Remarques
  • The Marconi Type 27 is built around the Round Type-N tube for radio frequency amplification. The receiver covers 60 to 500 kHz.

First triodes in Great Britain (UK): See "Radios von gestern" page 207 about H.J. Round who began to work on tubes for Marconi in 1911. With the treaty with Telefunken of March 6, 1913 was agreed that Round and C.S. Franklin work for receiving valves and Telefunken for transmitting valves. 1913 the Type C does audio amplification and from 1914 the Round Type N is for radio frequency amplification, both are "soft tubes". Marconi Type 16 uses the Round tube in a RF and AF reflex stage. The vacuum tube R is the first British vakuum tube, mate from the Pliotron of GE and teh French TM (of 1914). The R-Type started in England in 1916 and all manufacturers had to produce it for war purposes.
