  • Notes
  • Portable Radio Interference Measuring Set.  Used on board ships as well as at shore stations to identify sources of noise and interference that could compromise radio silence and give away a ship's location.

External aerial.  Measures noise voltage or field strength by meter and calibrated attenuator.  High impedance headphones can be used to help identify interference sources.  A 2KHz transitron oscillator and gas-filled tetrode provide a wide-band noise source for calibration.

    Wave bands:  Band 1:  10.5 to 30 MHz., Band 2:  3.8 to 10.8 MHz., Band 3:  1.4 to 3.9 MHz., Band 4:  550 to 1500 KHz., Band 5:  150 to 400 KHz.

An external 12V battery type A.P.14062 is needed to supply the heaters (in series parallel) and 400V h.t. via an internal rotary convertor.  Consumption: 6A.
