Category: Radio (Wireless and Radar) Aerial and Mast Equipment and Insulators.90° rigid twist aluminium alloy X-Band rectangular waveguide. Painted gloss grey.
Internal dimensions 0.4 x 0.9 inches- RCSC (UK Radio Components Standardization Committee) Standard WG16

WG16 Specifications:
- Recommended frequency band 8.2 to 12.4 GHz
- Cutoff frequency of lowest order mode (TE10) 6.6 GHz
- Cutoff frequency of upper mode (TE20) 13.1 GHz
Since the waveguide is more than 2.5 wavelengths long at the lowest recommended operating frequency, it can be used to rotate the polarisation without introducing undue field distortion. Used to meet mechanical constraints in a waveguide system or to select the polarisation in a radar range calibration system, for example.
At one port, the twist waveguide has a choked socket-mounted flange with two dowel pins for use with a quick-release waveguide clamp such as 10AR/3623. The other port has a through-mounted cover flange. Both flanges have O-ring gaskets in circular grooves to allow pressurisation.
