  • Anotaciones
  • Wireless set No. X20A: Experimental high power SHF / microwave transceiver operating in the 7 cm frequency range (transmitter fixed 7 or 7,4 cm, receiver tuneable 6,8 - 7,55 cm), pulse width modulation, power output 40 - 150 Watts;
    powered by mains or a 15 kVA diesel generator.
    Experimental equipment used by British Army with the intention to increase the communications beyond the range of the standard Wireless Set No.10. Tests have been conducted for propagation trials to cross the Gulf of Aden (Aden - Berbera, 170 miles) in Dec. 1942 / July 1943; propagation was too instable depending on propagation conditions and thus unreliable for a regular service.
