  • Anotaciones
  • Wireless Set No. 24: UHF short range transceiver covering 230 - 255 MHz, AM (A3), Pout 0,25 Watts;
    powered by 12 V accumulator feeding a rotary converter to generate the HT, vertical rod or half wave dipole antenna.
    Used by British Army as short range communications set between tanks of a group to reach vehicles in the near surrounding (400 - 800 yards, when on the move), it was intended to replace the optical signalling lamps.
    The strange shape is due to the fact that the set should fit into the compartment of the formerly used signalling equipment.
    The Wireless Set No.24 was only experimental and produced in very small numbers, but it's technology can be found integrated in the later Wireless Set No.19 in form of it's integrated "B Set" for short range inter - vehicle communications.
