• Airborne radio transmitter/receiver equipment for 24 crystal controlled channels in the 100 - 156 MHz VHF band. AM modulated at 8 W rf output. Based on AN/ARC-3 system , the radio set has been extended from 8 to 24 channels to suit the requirements of the R.C.A.F. (Royal Canadian Air Force).
  With 3 additional relays in RX and TX resp., 3 crystal banks of 8 crystals each can be selected. As a consequence, new crystal holders were required that keep 24 crystals of smaller sized CR-18 rather than CR-1 as being used in the original ARC-3 system.
