• The Radio Transmitting Set AN/GRT-3 is the model designation for the combination of two units: Modulator-Power Supply Model MD-141A/GR and Transmitter, Radio Model T-282D/GR. Both models are listed separately in the Museum under their respective chassis designations. This transmitter combination operates in the 225 to 399.9 MHz range, single-frequency crystal controlled with an RF power output of 100 watts from a mains power draw of 380 watts. The unit utilizes amplitude modulation for either voice or tone, narrow or broadband. This unit is normally used as the transmitting equipment of a UHF communications system used in air-traffic control towers or airway stations.
