  • These assemblies may have been used in a missile data link, or (less likely) Radar, and the specific units were part of a ground based test bench for the missile equipment.  No date codes are evident, and there is no evidence of solid state parts.   Estimated power based on the transmit tubes (100W max each) and assuming an overal PAE (power amplifier efficiency) of 50%.   The 2C39A tubes were still in common use in the early 1970's on certain UHF transmiters, but they were considered old at the time. RadioMuseum shows these tubes as early as 1953.

    Weight is for the pieces shown.  The whole system would have weighed much more.
