  • The model 56T1 is Motorola's first transistor portable - with the variants 56T1A and 56T1B. They have a metal case, but the handle is made in plastic to serve as antenna. Pull the volume control knob from front of the radio for chassis removal. There is a tuning knob retaining screw. After the tuning knob is removed the chassis mounting screw is visible.
