  • This is an On-Orbit Space Shuttle Wireless Crew Communication Unit (WCCU) which is usually worn by the astronauts aboard the NASA Space Shuttle for communicating with each other. It is normally worn on the astronaut’s leg and uses UHF wireless communication. Note the Space Shuttle was a partially reusable low Earth orbital spacecraft system operated by the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) from 1982 to 2011, as part of the Space Shuttle program. Its official program name was Space Transportation System (STS). This unit operates in the UHF-band from 340-390-MHz.
