Kondensatormikrofonkapsel mit Achter-Charakteristik, mittels Bajonettverschluß aufsteckbar auf Mikrofonverstärker wie CMV3a oder CMV5.
Die Bezeichnung CM7 ist intern von Neumann vergeben worden. Viel gebräuchlicher für diese Kapsel ist die Bezeichnung M8, wie sie auch im Braunbuch zu finden ist. Das Nierenmikrofon M7 hatte dagegen die Neumann-interne Bezeichnung CM8.
