The HL/7 receiver was used on ships. The sturdy chassis is of cast aluminium. The frequency range is 15 kHz to 21 MHz in 10 bands:
- 15-46 kHz
- 46-125 kHz
- 125-430 kHz
- 350-1000 kHz
- 1-2,7 MHz
- 2,7-7,5 MHz
- 7,5-9,7 MHz
- 9,7-12 MHz
- 12,5-15,8 MHz
- 15,8-21 MHz.
Reception with a crystal is also possible. The antenna is connected via a special junction-box with rejection-filter.
A variant HL/7K uses 2 volts filament valves, heaters connected in parallel (KF2 KBC1 KF2) fed by a 2 volts battery.
A later variant H2L/7 has an extra audio amplifier valve (B443).
