• 150-W amateur transmitter.

  Has an accurately calibrated and voltage stabilized VFO with buffer amplifiers and frequency multipliers for switch selection of any amateur band from 3.5 to 28 MHz.

  Provision is made for "break-in" operation on telegraphy and for netting, and it is TVI-proof, i.e., all harmonics in the TV band have been suppressed.

  DC power input to PA is 150W in CW mode (the maximum legal limit in the UK). On AM R/T it is 120W max.

  The transmitter covers the HF amateur bands that were available at the time: 3.5, 7, 14, 21 and 28Mc/s bands. The electrical layout is:

  RF Unit: VFO (EF50), driver/amplifier/frequency multipliers (4 x 6V6), power amplifier (2 x 807).

  Modulator unit: high gain speech amplifier (6SL7), modulator driver amplifier (6SN7), and class AB2 modulator (2 x 807).

  Power unit: low voltage rectifier (5U4G) produces 350V at 250mA, high voltage rectifier (2 x 866) produces 750V at 200mA (on CW) or 650V at 400mA (on AM R/T).
