  • Anotaciones
  • The Philco model 37-610 series (1936-37) is the follow-on of the model 610 series (1936), and uses a similar 5-tube 3-band chassis, but with updated octal tubes and different band coverage (BC, 2.3-7.4 MHz, and 7.35-22 MHz). There are five specific models in the series with different cabinet styles.

The early version (1936) of the table model 37-610T has a cabinet with a round left side, and a speaker opening with a circular lower part and horizontal bars in the upper part. This cabinet was available in both walnut and maple versions. The early version uses a code 122 chassis.

The late version (1937) of 37-610T has a cabinet similar to the early version, except that two of the horizontal bars in the speaker opening are "S" shaped and descend lower into circular part of the opening. The late model uses a code 126 chassis.

The early version of the tombstone model 37-610B (1936) has a shouldered profile and uses a code 121 chassis. The late version (1937) has a retangular profile and a code 125 chassis.

Model 37-610J (1936-37) is a floor-type console with a slightly trapezoidal profile and three bars in front of the speaker. It uses either a code 121 or 125 chassis.

The differences between the various chassis codes are as follows: Codes 122 and 126 are low profile chassis to fit into the shorter -T cabinets. The height of these versions is reduced by locating the 5Y4G rectifier tube next to the transformer instead of on top of it, as in the taller code 121 and 125 chassis. Codes 121 and 122 were used in 1936; codes 125 and 126 were used in 1937 and have slight circuit changes in the RF section.

The model 38-610 series (1937-38) is a continuation of the 37-610 series, with chassis and some of the cabinets having very similar design.

Stein mentions this model as a single band radio.
