- Notes
- The Philco model 37-62 series uses a 5-tube 2-band (BC and 2.3-2.5 MHz) chassis.
There are three models in the series with different cabinet styles. The early version of the model 37-62T table radio has three horizontal bars and one diagonal bar through the speaker grill. The late version of 37-62T has two bars through the speaker grill, both with a roughly square "S" shape. Both versions of 37-62T have an artificial "photo finish" wood pattern printed on the front of the cabinet, an approach used on very low cost cabinets.
Model 37-62F is a floor-type console with a large rectangular speaker grill and three vertical bars in front of the speaker.
Ramirez's 1993 edition lists only one model (without picture) in the 37-62 series, with the designation 37-62C. The information on his website (in 2009) no longer shows a 37-62C, but lists the three models mentioned above. If a -C model exists, it would be for a compact table cabinet, not really consistent with the size and shape of the 37-62 chassis. It is therefore considered unlikely that 37-62C exists.
