- Anotaciones
- The Philco model 37-630 series (1936-37) uses a 6-tube 3-band chassis which is very similar to the 37-620 series, but with shadow meter (tuning aid) added. The chassis is also similar in design to that used in the previous model 630 series (1935-36). The bands covered are 530-1720 kHz (BC), 2.3-7.4 MHz (SW1), and 7.35-22 MHz (SW2).
There are four versions of the chassis. Codes 121 and 125 have the rectifier tube located on top of the transformer, and are used in the -X and -MX console models. Codes 122 and 126 have the rectifier tube located on the chassis next to the power transformer to reduce the overall height, and are used in the low profile -T model. Codes 121 and 125 are early versions; codes 122 and 126 are later versions, which have minor circuit improvements (see schematics).
There are three individual models with different cabinet styles. Model 37-630T is a table radio. Model 37-630X is a console with inclined sounding board, having a rectangular speaker opening with three vertical bars in front of the speaker. Model 37-630MX is a more modern console design, with a speaker opening consisting of four tall narrow rectangular slots.
The basic design of the chassis for the 37-630 series was carried forward and used in the 38-630 series (1937-38).
