Model 37-690X was Philco's top-of-the-line radio for the 1937 model year, with two chassis, five bands from 530kHz to 18MHz, console style cabinet with doors, one woofer, two tweeters and four "Acoustic Clarifiers" (passive radiators to eliminate cabinet resonance), automatic tuning system with automatic frequency control named "Magnetic Tuning," and variable IF bandwidth to trade off selectivity vs. fidelity. The audio amplifier has separate signal paths for bass and treble.
