• Model 38-690 is Philco's top-of-the-line radio for 1938, and one of their most elaborate designs ever. This model features five bands (BC + four SW), automatic tuning, magnetic tuning (automatic frequency control to automatically center tuning and prevent drift), adjustable IF bandwidth to trade off fidelity vs selectivity, two tweeters, one woofer, and acoustic clarifiers (passive radiators to eliminate cabinet resonance).
