- Anotaciones
- The Philco model 47 series uses a single-band 8-tube chassis designed for DC power.
The standard 47 chassis is for 115 VDC power, while the 47E (Export) chassis is for 230 VDC and uses a ballast tube. Code 121 chassis is for a single speaker (and type 4 ballast in export version); code 221 is for dual speakers (and a type 5 ballast in export version).
There were seven distinct models with different cabinet styles. Model 47B (1932-34) is a cathedral with single speaker. The cathedral cabinet, which was used on many other models in this time period, has a spade-shaped speaker opening and a recessed panel.
Model 47D is a single speaker highboy with doors; the early version (1932-33) has a full-box bracing system connecting its six legs. The late version (1933-34) has multiple changes in the cabinet, most notably a simpler leg bracing system with no bar between the front two legs.
47H is a single speaker highboy without doors. The early version (1932-33) has an ornately embellished, slightly arched speaker opening and full-box bracing of its six legs. The late version (1933-34) has a shield-shaped speaker opening and no bracing bar between its front two legs.
Model 47X is a floor-type console with inclined sounding board and dual speakers. On the early version (1932-33), the inclined sounding board is nearly the full width of the cabinet, and the control panel is arched. On the late version (1933-34), the sounding board is narrower, and the control panel is rectangular.
