• The Philco model 640 series uses a 7-tube 4-band chassis with shadow meter (tuning aid). The bands covered are 145-390 kHz, 540-1720 kHz, 2.2-2.6 MHz, and 5.8-18 MHz.
  
  There are four individual models with different cabinet styles. Model 640B is a shouldered tombstone. The 640X floor-type console has two versions - an early version having a vase-shaped pattern in the lattice work over the speaker, and a late version having three vertical bars in front of the speaker. Model 640PF is a radio-phonograph console with the phonograph under the top cover.
  
  The model 645 series (1936) is electrically very similar, as is the 37-640 series (1936-37), although the latter series has updated tubes and different band coverage.

  Stein mentions this model as a two bands radio.
