• Philco model A801 is a chairside radio for home use with AC power. The chassis is a modified car radio.
  
  According to Ramirez, this radio is one of very few new models introduced by Philco in early 1942, after the U.S. entered WWII. Philco built these radios to make use of excess card radio inventory (no longer sellable because of the cease of car manufacturing) and home radio cabinets.
  
  Bunis lists this as a 1941 model, but this is likely an error.
