  • A versatile motor-driven rotary signal switch, used in the Mk IIA Rebecca radar transponder to switch between antennas on either side of the aircraft fuselage to determine the azimuth of Eureka beacons. Consists of two ganged cam-driven changeover switches with six Pye coaxial connectors. Operating frequency 214 - 234 MHz. The phasing between the two switch sections is adjustable, as well as the dwell times of the individual contacts in each section. Motor speed 1800 rpm, current at 24v 0.5A, contact frequency 30 Hz.

    Used in 1963 for an integrating Dicke radiometer for accurately comparing the levels of electronic noise sources. (See black and white photos).

    Stamped on top cover with Philco Part No. 451-1084 but label indicates manufactured for Philco by Auto-Lite.
