The TPA-1 stands for "Transistor Phonograph Amplifier". The "Philco Service Supervisor" of October 1955 features the TPA-1 and TPA-2. TPA-1 and TPA-2 are transistor amplifiers with push-pull class B output stage. Wooden with cloth covering.
This Philco TPA-1 All-Transistor 45rpm battery operated portable phonograph is NOT a record changer. It can only play one 45rpm record at a time. You have to manually place a 45 rpm record onto the phonograph platter and manually move the tone arm onto the 45rpm record to play it. And when 45rpm record is finished, you have to manually pick up the tone arm and place it back onto the phonographs's arm rest.
The 1955 Philco's Models TPA-1 (M32) and TPA-2 (M32A) All-Transistor 45rpm portable battery operated phonographs were the World's First All-Transistor phonographs to be developed and produced.

I am wondering if anyone has the 1956 Philco Factory Supervised Service Home radio Yearbook, for I need the service information and schematic for the Philco TPA-1 phonograph, which is listed in this particular book ??
Also, does anyone have this Philco TPA-1 phonograph unit in their collection, for I would like to see an actual picture of it.
Thanks Rick (rickhirsh[A*T]yahoo.com)
