  • Anotaciones
  • The Philips Type 1016/1017 trickle charger is an advanced charging device designed for maintaining a 4-volt accumulator in a fully charged state. Type 2017 combines the functionality of the Type 1016 charger with a switch (Type 1019), which simplifies operations such as switching off valve filaments, interrupting the eliminator supply, and activating the charger—all with a single action. The switch requires proper cord connections as per the provided schematic.

    Key Features and Specifications:

    • Charging Current: The standard charging rate is 170 mA, sufficient for all usage scenarios without damaging the accumulator.
    • Adjustable Charging Rate: A variable resistance (up to 30 ohms) can be added to fine-tune the charging current:
      • 10 ohms: ~130 mA
      • 20 ohms: ~105 mA
      • 30 ohms: ~85 mA
    • Optimal Charging: The ideal current slightly exceeds consumption during operation. For example, a setup consuming 0.37 A for four hours daily would require a charging rate of approximately 90 mA, achieved with a resistance of ~25 ohms.
    • Accumulator Capacity: A low-capacity accumulator (3–4 Ah) suffices for most setups, as it only needs to supply current during maximum daily usage.

    Design and Components:

    • Case: Bakelite top with a metal wrinkle finish case.
    • Rectifying Valve (Type 1018): This component is securely mounted in the charger’s cover, ensuring protection and correct orientation.
    • Rheostat Control: A standard filament rheostat can be used to adjust resistance and regulate charging current.

This system is designed for efficiency and convenience, ensuring accumulators remain charged while preventing overcharging or damage.

    Made in Holland.
