A portable broadcast band radio has six transistors, one germanium diode, and one thermistor and is housed in a leather case with aluminium frame, in tan or light pigskin.
Features: tuning range 528-1640 kHz, ferrite rod aerial and 4" Rola speaker. Operates from four Eveready Type 935 (1.5V) C cells, or equivalent, fitting into the rear of the cabinet in a special container.
Volume/on-off control on the side of the cabinet. Printed circuit employed (4572 marked on the copper side).
This model uses Newmarket White Circle transistors. The transistors are marked with a number in a circle and are supplied in a set (V1 to V6). All 6 transistors have paint on the top surface.
See also other versions sharing the same case: A6 R15-1B, A6 R15-1C and Romany A7.
