• LW, MW, 9 x SW. Basically a Rimlock/B8A version of the 1950 PYE A39J/H or 39J/H in a different case with added Magic Eye (EM34) and of the 1949 or 1950 PYE 39JH/E (includes Magic Eye). The PE60  and H = PE60V are a similar design electronics in a stylish cabinet with similar scale and chassis but without Push pull audio.

  The Irish made version has a metal grill and Dundrum on badge, scale and rear panel instead of Cambridge. The model plate is identical.

  The UK versions have Metal or cloth grills. The cloth version is much higher serial number. The chassis model plates look identical on UK & Irish version. Confusingly the Model "J" Type  PE80 service manual explains there are versions with no LW (but still a PE80) and 12th position on wavechange blocked, so LW postion is Gram/P.U. A sample UK PE80 with cloth grill and an Irish Metal grill  PE80 appears to match Model "J" Type PE80 service manual. The "Model J" is an Alias for PE80.

  The twin Wanderplug socket for PU/Gram is actually 'Crystal' and 'Magnetic' inputs with the common earth socket on the chassis. The internal speaker is plugged in to paralleled wander sockets beside the extension speaker sockets.

  The earthy end of V1, V2 and V3 (RF valves) is disconnected leaving a common series 390 Ohms in Gram mode.

  The main drive requires 1.8m of cord.
