  • Remarques
  • Transporta portable transistor radio kitsets. Designed by Radio, TV & Hobbies magazine and used components supplied by various vendors advertising in the magazine. There were six kitset designs from 1958 to 1963. Printed circuit boards were manufactured by RCS Radio of Sydney.

The Transporta 4 was designed by Neville Williams.

This set was described in May 1959 issue of Radio TV & Hobbies as a experimental 4 transistor superhet.

The circuitry was minimal as it used only a frequency changer, a regenerative detector and directly coupled two-stage audio amplifier.

The IF transformer with regenerative winding was hand wired on a ferrite toroid ring. The performance of this radio was limited and the audio output was approximately 50mW.

Cabinet was made of wood and covered with vinyl.

In the October issue of Radio TV & Hobbies they described this radio as the Transporta 4 using a proprietary IF and printed circuit board supplied by RCS Radio.
