1) TV Channels 2 through 13

2) Normally AC operation, but can be DC via a polarising relay.

3) Height measurement includes feet and arched top.  Depth measurement includes extruding knobs and screen bezel.

4) The markings on the electrical chassis as well as the tube diagram affixed to the inside of the cabinet indicate that V1 is intended to be a 6AG5.  That said the schematics shown in SAMS photofact and in Wallace’s Tellaides show this to be a 6BH6.

This same chassis type is also used in the Stewart-Warner AVT1, AVC1 and AVC2.  The schematic and layout for those is shown in M.N. Beitman’s “Most-Often-Needed 1949 Television Servicing Information” (page 176 and 177a) as well as in SAMS (DATE 6/49 4912-12 SET #64 FOLDER 12).  This clearly identifies V1 as a 6BH6.

It does appear that the 6AG5 was originally used in this 10DX24 chassis as the one photographed here has the series filament strings configured to accommodate the 0.3A filament of the 6AG5 versus the 0.15A needed by the 6BH6 - including an additional 85 ohm dropping resistor.
