- The RCA models 8X541, 8X542 and 8X547 share the same schematic at Beitman vol. 9, Rider vol. 18, page RCA 45 and SAMS set 59 folder 16. Chassis are there listed as RC-1065 and RC-1065A but we know at least also the suffixes C, D, F, H, J, K, L and M. See chassis pictures, for instance for 8X542 with chassis RC 1065L. The suffixes indicate earlier or later production. The difference between 8X541 (Maroon), 8X542 (Ivory) and 8x547 (White) is the color of the same cabinet.
Chassis photos are most welcome - please place your photos to the model according to it. For not having to change the texts for all different chassis and colors we provide
additional text and new findings here.

This article shall cover additional text and new findings for the
RCA model family 8X541 (Maroon), 8X542 (Ivory) and 8X547 (White)
of the same cabinet (except color) and schematic - except possible minor changes for the different suffixes of the chassis RC 1065 which we write as RC-1065. The first schematics mention RC-1065 and RC-1065A. These models were first sold in 1947. We don't know yet when the later suffixes were introduced and when production/sale were stopped.
We introduce the following text to each model - but enhance and renew here ONCE in this text which will be linked to each of the models. Too many models would be involved for changing texts.
Modeltext at the start:

8X542 Ch= RC-1065 (first production) or RC-1065A
8X547 Ch= RC-1065 (first production) or RC-1065A
Later chassis:
The later chassis RC-1065 are almost identical with RC-1065A but have a different power tube (50B5 instead of 50L6GT). We have not yet corrected all of those and will first have to find out which suffixes were involved with the tube 50B5. We will have to change probably also the power output for such models.
Guests can send us a contact form for additions or pictures and members can add a post here if it is general for the whole model family. They add pictures to the individual models and create models if there are more suffixes found - with showed evidence.
