  • The Electrola 9-54 from the ex Victor Talking Machine Co. in Camden employs the Radiola deluxe 64 chassis with a tuning meter and AVC. The model was also called "Nine Fifty-Four" and is together with the 9-56 a top model of 1929. We dod not know if victor built it already before the sale to RCA of the company and could be named for 1928. The Spanish influenced walnut cabinet with quite some woodwork is about 60" tall. To have a powerful audio output the UX-250 is fed with nearly 400 volts. The second version of the Victor automatic changer is built in but the new version had technical problems and was even sometimes breaking records - "either by a failed ejection allowing the lifter ring to crush the record or by tossing the record onto the floor" (stated by Western Historic Radio Museum which have a working excample with the original changer).
