The RCA Model 6-HF-1 was manufactured in 1956. It consisted of a console with separate AM/FM tuner (RS147) and amplifier chassis (RC1154). The tuner contains 9 tubes and the amplifier/power supply contains 8 tubes. Also a record changer (RP-197) and a reel-to-reel tape deck (RCA TR-1) with another 5 tubes.. The tape deck was actually a Magnecord M30 with the RCA brand name. The matching speaker cabinet (RK196) contained 4 speakers: woofer, midrange, and 2 tweeters. The speaker had a 50 foot cord for placement away from the console. Schematic was issued by Howard Sams in 334-8 and by RCA.
The reel-to-reel tape deck also used two 1U1 crystal diodes for signal rectification preceding the Recording Indicator Level and a full wave selenium rectifier to supply DC voltage to the two AF amplifiers.
Both the record changer and reel-to-reel units have separate detailed RCA Service Manuals.
The model 6-HF-2 was a single unit model that contained a AM/FM radio, record changer, and speaker. It did not contain a reel-to-reel tape deck.
