- Notes
-
The RCA Radiola 32 (AC Version) is an 10 tube AC operated BC band Receiver. The BC band frequency range is 550 to 1500 kHz. Cabinet is a desk type Lowboy with stretcher base. Has rotatable loop antenna hidden inside the cabinet. Employed the new Rice-Kellogg electrodynamic speaker. "RCA has blended the models 28 Radiola and the 104 Power Speaker into one combination...".
Only 3041 were made. The UV876 is a ballast tube used when operating from 60 cycles. The UV876 is replaced with a UV886 when operating from 25 cycles. These ballast tubes get extremely hot and should be used only with the chimney in place.
The catacomb has 8 tube sockets, but socket #8 is not used. The Power Pack unit has Qty(3) resistors whose values are not marked on any schematic in the literature. These values were measured on an actual unit and are as follows:
R1 - Multi-tap voltage divider with total resistance of 2818 ohms, with taps (from the top) of 2 Kohms, 88 ohms, 280 ohms and bottom section 450 ohms.
R2 - 4 Kohms (50 W)
R3 - 5 Kohm resistor with slider, slider set at 3.5 Kohms
R2 and R3 are in parallel and the slider on R3 is used to adjust the plate voltage on the UX210 output tube.
