  • The Sears Silvertone 1531 is a Low-Boy console radio, Superhet with stretcher base, offering an Electric Phonograph with a Record Changer for max. ten records 10" or 12". Butt walnut and oriental wood veneer panels. Permopoint Phonograph needle and aerial kit included. Parallel output, tubes 2 x 47.
    Order number 57KM 1531 1/4 with tubes for $ 98 or for easy payment: $ 11 "down" cash and $ 10 per month until paid $ 107.75. The Silvertone 1531 is the superhet with the new chassis made by Sentinel Radio instead of Colonial, with the knobs in a straight line. See details and summaries about Sears catalogs etc.

    The Sears book "Service information 1928 thru 1936" shows on page 184 the same schematic for the models 1320, 1324, 1326X, 1386, 1454, 1456, 1531 and 7004. See this special text about first Silvertone superhets. Some of these Silvertone radios (1320, 1324, 1326) were available with an earlier chassis with knobs arranged in a "v" (triangle, top down) with 3 tubes 35.
