  • The two speakers are 8 and 12 inch. There is also the same cabinet and probably chassis as model Silvertone 1722 first series and there is a model Silvertone 1722X which is the same as the revised one ... The catalog #167 tells us on page 627 that the model has a tube 85, also the Rider's Sears page 5-9 and 5-10, issued May 18, 1934 is showing this. It is also for the revised model 1732. One 6B7 serves for the "Flasher", the other for the AVC. The 56 is the oscillator - with problematic short wave capabilities. Push-pull output. The revision is mainly for a better short wave sensibility with a 78 resistance-capacity coupled IF stage added and the 37 detector and 37 first audio replaced by a 85 tube which does the same functions. The ON-OFF-switch is a duplex for allowing shorting out the added IF when selecting the broadcast band.
