The Sears Silvertone 1948 is a battery operated 5 tube BC, Longwave and SW band receiver. Has AGC and tone control. Uses 1G1 ballast when using 3V dry "A" batteries. Also can use 2V Storage "A" batteries by replacing ballast tube with shorting jumper.
Band Frequency Ranges are as follows:

Longwave Band (Band A)........225-440kHz
SW Band (Band C).................5.9-15.5MHzThe chassis and schematic of this model is also used in Sears Silvertone model 1947.
