  • The Sears Silvertone 4628A is a battery operated 8 tube BC, Police and SW band receiver.

    Band Frequency Ranges are as follows:
    BC Band (Band "A").............540 - 1780kHz
    Police Band (Band "P")........1.76 - 6.2MHz
    SW Band (Band "F")............5.975 - 18.5MHz

    Uses Qty(2) 45 volt "B" batteries, Qty(1) 4.5 volt "A" dry battery or Qty(1) 4 volt "A" storage battery and Qty(2) 1.5 volt dry batteries.  The two 1.5v batteries are used only to power the two dial lights.  The dial lights are activated by pushing the volume control down.  Also uses Qty(2) 1.25v bias cells, used to bias the 1H4G audio driver circuit.

    Has 2 IF stages and 4 AF stages, which include a push-pull output circuit.  Has a three position tone control.
