  • The Sears Silvertone 1853 is a battery operated 5 tube BC band receiver. Uses ballast tube type 52.

    The chassis and schematic used in this model is also used in models 1711A, 1744, 1745, 1852 and 7090A. Riders Sears 5-5, 6 schematic is for model 1711A but Sears Silvertone Service Manual 1928 thru 1936 confirms that models 1711A and 1853 use the same schematic, thus Riders schematic is valid for this model.

    Catalog States: Massively built cabinet with setback style pilasters with instrument panel of matched stump walnust veneer.  Remainder richly walnut finished. Full size 8 inch speaker.  Complete with tubes, batteries and aerial kit.
