  • Annotazioni
  • The Sears Silvertone 4785 is an AC operated 8 tube BC, Police and SW band receiver.

This model obviously combines a cabinet like the 4648/4649 (Stein, Sears Silvertone Catalogs 1930-1942, p.141) with a chassis which looks like the one for 4685 (Stein, p.125).

The 4785 could be a parallel issue with the 4685 or a variation thereof  for 1938. But there is no evidence yet.

The chassis label looks very similar to the chassis 101.482 (used in model 4769 and others).  The difference in the chassis looks mechanical, with the 101.482 chassis having the tuning knob raised higher for the "phone dial" type tuning knob, but otherwise the chassis looks similar, including the locations of the tubes and power transformer.

The 101.488 chassis is not in Riders.

See details and summaries about Sears catalogs etc. This model was manufactured for Sears by Colonial Radio Corp., Buffalo, NY (Sears Manufacturer Source Number Code 101).
