- Notes
-
The Silvertone 46-C is a 5-tube BC-band small tombstone radio styled like a console radio, frequently called a child's console. It was marketed by Sears Roebuck in California, and was manufactured by Mission Bell Radio in Los Angeles, CA.
Mark Stein mistakenly identified this radio as the “Silvertone Mission Bell.” The designation is retained in the model name fields merely for searchability.
However, it is now known that the correct model is the 46-C, and that the manufacturer was Mission Bell. Both are verified by factory labels on the photographed example. The tag on back of chassis shows "factory 833," which was Sears' designation for Mission Bell as a supplier of radios made for Silvertone to market in California. Remnants of the factory paper label on the wooden back cover also clearly shows "factory 833 made in Los Angeles" and "model 46-C", plus most of "Mission Bell" across top.
