  • Bemerkung
  • The Model Shanghai Type 144 上海 was manufactured by different plants. At least at:
    上海广播器材厂 Shanghai Broadcast Equipment Factory;
    上海新华元件厂 Shanghai Xinhua Electronic Component Factory;
    上海金属工艺三厂 Shanghai Metal Fine Arts No. 3 Factory;
    上海电子计算器厂Shanghai Electronic Calculator Factory
    and 上海电视十二厂Shanghai TV No. 12 Factory. The Shanghai TV 12th Factory made it also Shanghai 144 and this went on until the early 1980s when others stopped the production.
    The following Chinese tubes are used: 6U1 6K4 6N2 6P14 6Z4 6E1. The 6K4_China (not to be confused with the USA 6K4) is the same as the US tube 6DA6 or the Europa tube EF89. Details you see with a click on the tube (link). See also 6N2 etc.

    Broadcast is from 535 to 1620 kHz, SW1 from 3.8 to 8.2 MHz and SW2 from 8.2 to 18.4 MHz. Short-wave is not inferior to 200 uV, using the built in antenna, which is an aluminum foil. It has a nice tone control with 3 presets and a variable setting with a small dial. It has a built in Ferroceptor antenna which you can turn with a knob. When the shortwave is used (3,4-18mhz divided in two bands) that knob works as fine tuning control. Magic Eye.

    The differences between the different manufacturers are: Fine Arts 3rd = used the tube 6E1 and the others 6E2. Some differences are also for export models. For more information and details for how to distinguish (in Chinese but with many photos) see this link. In this other interesting pageyou find photos of the inside including cabling the scale finger (station finder) and other details.
