  • Travel receiver with PLL synthesizer tuner, featuring FM Stereo on headphones (87.5 - 108 MHz), MW (531 - 1602 kHz), KW1/SW1 (3.2 - 7.3 MHz, KW2/SW2 (9.5 - 21.75 MHz), tuning channel steps of 5 kHz on SW1 and SW2, 9 kHz on MW, 50 kHz on FM, 20 station presets, clock / timer.

    The identical Sangean ATS-800 and Realistic DX-370 models share the same chassis, with slight variations, like different buttom colors or RF band coverage/channel stepping for specific markets.

    Technical details:

    The FM band uses a dedicated TA7358AP FM front end tuner IC (IC1) that passes the 10.70 MHz IF signal to a TA7758P AM/IF IF IC (IC2) followed by a AN7415S Stereo Multiplexer Demodulator.

    The MW and SW1/2 bands use a discrete RF Amplifier around a 2SK212E N-Channel JFET transistor (Q2), and then the RF signal is passed to the shared TA7758P AM Mixer/Osc and IF IC (IC2) using a frequency of 450 kHz.

    The VT tuning voltage is handled by a TA8126F DC-DC Converter and associated transformer encapsulated in a metalic shielding to prevent noise interference. Two SVC201SP varicaps (D1 and D2) are used on FM RF and Oscillator sections, and two KV1236Z-3 varicaps (D3 and D4) on the AM RF and Oscillator sections.

    The dual channel audio output is serverd by two AN7117 Low Power Consumption 1 W Audio Power Amplifiers (IC4 and IC5).

    The radio management, clock, and PLL functions are handled by a uPD1715G Microcontroller (IC101) and several discrete transistors and three auxiliary ICs. Several firmware versions were released during the production years for Siemens, like the uPD1715G-201 and uPD1715G-214 for the G4, and the uPD1715G-633-21 for the G4II.
