Technical details
This model uses two 2SC460 transistors (Q1 Mixer and Q2 Oscillator), two 2SA12 (Q3 1st IF and Q4 2nd IF), one 2SB77 (Q5 Tuning Indicator), two 2SB75 (Q6 Audio Amp and Q7 Driver Amp), and two 2SB457A (Q8 and Q9 Push-Pull Power Output).
This model uses PNP germanium transistors whenever possible, while the RF sections used the then new Japanese NPN silicon planar transistors. Hitachi developed silicon planar transistors like the 2SC460 in 1966. In the years after several Japanese radios have been seen using this mix of germanium and silicon devices, as germanium had lower production cost than the new high performance silicon devices.

This Silver 5S626 radio was also manufactured in Mozambique by TELE-RADAR, Lda in the city of Beira in the 60s when the country was administered by Portugal.
In fact, this model is relatively easy to find for sale in Portugal on the usual local internet auction sites, and most of them feature the gold tag stuck to the back of the radio with the stylized TELE-RADAR brand image.
