  Uses:

  • check any winding in the horizontal system (transformer or yoke) for shorts and opens (Q-type check)
  • check flyback and yoke system in-circuit (plate cap of output tube requires disconnecting) - good/bad scale for High-Q, comparative logging scale for Low-Q systems.
  • measure capacitance value (and check for open): direct-reading scales from 10 mmf to 0.1 mfd.
  • make continuity checks of any wire-wound components.
