A high quality tonearm for HiFi and studio applications. Also distributed by Shure as the Shure SME 3009.
It was installed as standard in turntables from Braun (PCS 52) and Thorens (TD 124 and TD 125).
The exchangeable headshell developed by SME became the standard for the independent providers of pickups and headshells and was also adopted by manufacturers of complete turntables. The Wega Module 42 P is such an example.Similar to the SME 3012 Series II tonearm which is 12 inches long.

Wurde serienmäßig im Plattenspielern von Braun (PCS 52) und Thorens (TD 124 und TD 125) verbaut.
Der von SME entwickelte Anschluß für die wechselbare Headshell wurde zum Standard für die unabhängigen Anbieter von Tonabnehmern und Headshells und wurde auch von Herstellern von kompletten Plattenspielern übernommen. Als Beispiel kann hier der Wega Modul 42 P dienen.
