  • A portable mains/battery 2 Track Mono reel to reel tape recorder, 4 Speed (7½; 3¾; 1⅞ and 15/16 inch / sec. /  19; 9.5; 4.75 and 2.38 cm / sec) with speed tuning (+5% ~ -10%), max. reel diameter 13 cm (5 inch), built-in electret Microphone, Servocontrol, Level meter, Automatic Level Control. Inputs for Microphone and Aux., Monitor output. Optional DCC-2AW 12 volt car battery cord. See also the Sony TC-800.

    Das TC-800B weist vier wählbare Geschwindigkeiten auf:
    7 1/2; 3 3/4; 1 7/8 und 15/16 inch/sec.

    Entsprechend 19; 9.5; 4.75 und 2.38 cm/s. Letztere Geschwindigkeit soll zur Zeit Nixons im Weissen Haus mit diesem Gerät verwendet worden sein, weshalb die Aufzeichnungen z.T. schwer verständlich waren ("Watergate" Skandal).

    Gerät enthält ein eingebautes Electret Mikrofon. Die Aussteuerung bei der Aufnahme kann automatisch oder manuell (Instrument) erfolgen.

    Als Besonderheit lässt sich die Bandgeschwindigkeit mittels des Servo Controls stufenlos +/- varieren.

    Der max. Spulendurchmesser beträgt 130mm.
